The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Education and Culture, has started establishing Master’s programs at several state universities with the aim of improving the quality of human resources and accelerating the development of science and technology. Initially, the Master’s degree programs were focused on fields such as engineering, science, and medicine, before eventually expanding to various other disciplines, including social sciences, law, economics, and education.
The Master’s Program in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at Universitas Alma Ata (UAA) is one of the programs under the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UAA. The PAI Master’s Program was established on May 10, 2022, based on the Rector’s Decree Number 0171b/A/SK/UAA/VII/2021, with the Operational License Decree: Decision of the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia NUMBER 454 of 2022. The latest Accreditation Rank is GOOD, based on the BAN-PT Decree: 4882/SK/BAN-PT/AK.P/M/XI/2023.
The PAI Master’s Program at UAA has collaborated with national and international institutions such as: Universitas Islam Malang, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, UIN KH. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan, IAI AL-Ibrahimy, STAINU Purworejo, STIT Madina Sragen, Universitas Islam Indonesia, and Yogyakarta Islamic College, University of Ez-Zitouna Tunisia Africa, Prince of Songkla University, National University of Malaysia, Putra University Malaysia, University of Malaya, and Technical University of Malaysia Malacca. This collaboration is an effort to expand the network and improve student competence as well as strengthen institutional capacity.
